Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine opens for Devotees after five months

Finally after five long months Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu was opened for devotees to have darshan. In the wake of Coronavirus pandemic, the famous shrine was closed for devotees to pay visit.

However, there are certain restrictions. Till further notification, now only 2000 pilgrims per day will be allowed to pay obeisance at the shrine. 

Again, while 1900, out of the 2000 will be from Jammu and Kashmir including the Vaishhov Devi Temple the rest 100 devotees from outside the Union Territory will be allowed. The norm has been set keeping the pandemic in view. Besides, pregnant women, senior citizens, children below 10 years of age and people with co-morbidities have been advised not to visit the shrine.

The route from Katra to the temple was sanitized before the resumption of the pilgrimage. Also, all the entry points will have automatic thermal screening along with hand sanitizer.

Also, the route of the yatra for devotees has been specified. The traditional route from Katra to Bhawan via Ban Ganga, Adhkuwari and Sanjhi Chatt will be used for going up while the return route from Bhawan will be via Himkoti route-Tarakote Marg.
