Navaratri 2022: Maa Cuttack Chandi in Odisha adorned with Matangi Besha

With the advent of the festive season ‘Sodasa Upachar puja’ (worship with 16 elements) is going on at different temples of Odisha. In Cuttack the same worship is going on dedicated to Goddess Cuttack Chandi, the presiding deity of Cuttack in Odisha. On this occasion the Goddess is being adorned with a new attire every day for 16 days. Accordingly, on September 25, 2022 Goddess Cuttack Chandi was attired with ‘Maatangi Besha’.

Navaratra is commencing from today, September 26, 2022. Today, on the first day of Navaratri Goddess Cuttack Chandi will be adorned with Maa Narayani Besha. To get a glimpse of the Goddess and to pay their obeisance large numbers of devotees are crowding the temple since the beginning of the Sodasa Upachar puja.  

Today, on Monday, rituals were performed at the Cuttack Chandi temple. In the morning, following the ‘Alati’, the ‘snana’, ‘dainika puja’, ‘surya puja’ and ‘dwarapala puja’ was performed.
