Visting Lord Alarnath during Anasara 2019

As per tradition, the three deities of Srimandira in Puri, Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra fall sick after the sacred bath on Snanapurnima that was solemnized yesterday. The deities now take 14 days to recover and hence they will be treated with herbal medicines. During this period, which is called Anasara, public darshan in the Puri temple is closed. It is believed that devotees can acquire virtue with a glimpse of Lord Alarnath at Brahmagiri when the Puri lords are not available for public darshan during Anasara.

Accordingly, thousands of devotees and pilgrims have now traveled to Brahmagiri of Puri district to have a glimpse of Lord Alarnath. Keeping in view the huge number of visitors/devotees in this period of 14 days, ample arrangement has been made.

As per sources, within this period every day, the temple will open at 4 am in the morning and rituals like Mangala alati, abakasha, besha, chandana tulasi lagi, dwarapala puja, ballava niti will be completed by 6 am. Then public darshan will be allowed. In the meanwhile other rituals like Suryapuja, rosha homa niti will be executed and the Sakala Dhupa will be at 12 noon. By 1 pm dwipahara dhupa ritual will be executed following which the Lord will go for pahada. Again from 1.30 pm, public darshan will be allowed.

Adequate security and traffic arrangement have been made for this period. 70 Police officials along with 10 platoons of Police forces have been deployed inside and outside the temple. Arrangement for special darshan may also be allowed in between 12 to 3 pm keeping the huge crowd in view. One platoon women police have also been deployed. Besides, adequate traffic arrangement has also been made. As per the Temple trustee, multiple CCTV cameras have been installed inside and outside the temple to keep a strict vigil.
